Historical Overview Section
Văn Lang was the first semi-legendary nation of the ancient Vietnamese people. It was ruled by the Hùng Kings of the Hồng Bàng dynasty. Hùng Vương as the title of a line of kings and the Văn Lang kingdom's existence are attested in Qin and Tang-era sources. The people of Văn Lang were referred to as the Lạc Việt or sometimes simply as the Lạc. Văn Lang ended c. 258 BC when the Âu invaded under their Shu prince Thục Phán. Thục defeated the last Hùng Vương, united the kingdoms as Âu Lạc, and proclaimed himself An Dương Vương
The Qin dynasty conquered the state of Chu, unifying China. Qin abolished the noble status of the royal descendants of the state of Yue. After some years, Qin Shi Huang sent an army of 500,000 to conquer the West Ou, began a three-year guerrilla war and killed their leader.
Before the Han dynasty, the East and West Ou regained independence. The Eastern Ou was attacked by the Minyue, and Emperor Wu of Han allowed them to move to between the Yangtze and the Huai River. The Western Ou paid tribute to Nanyue until it was conquered by the Han.
Using the army in ADLG
- Tricky in the early period where proper chariotry will give it problems. 1
- Using the ex-Chin troops seems like a cop-out really, as then it's a Ch;in army with more Southern Warrior types and weak command and control, so you probably want to go big on the Medium Sword Impetuous and rush people in terrain.
- 2 elephants is not quite enough to make the army more viable with this command and control
