Using the successful and famous AGE engine, Alea Jacta Est covers the whole of Europe, Northern Africa, and part of Eastern Europe with a map split into a paltry 2,800 regions, complete with cities, roads, fortifications, weather effects, different types of block paving used in road construction and innumerable enemy and allied tribes and kingdoms, all of which have a significant effect on gameplay.
