Central London Wargames Club

Unofficial Club Motto - "It Smacks of Incompetence"

CLUB NEWS: 11/1/08

the club will be moving on or before Tues 15th to the Cock Tavern, 23 Phoenix Rd, NW1 1HB.
It's on the corner of Charlton St, which runs off the Euston Rd - a couple of minutes from JD's.
The move is a bit more precipitous than we'd hoped - sorry!

Any questions please mail Alan at mailto:alan@goodearl.freeserve.co.uk

We meeting every Tuesday in A PUB called the Cock Tavern Phoenix Rd, NW1 1HB., Central London is home to a diverse mix of friendly and competitive players, none of whom take themselves too seriously. Technically we aren't even a club, as we have no membership fee, no committee, no club constitution. Did I mention that there is a bar  ?

The Pub is the Cock Tavern which is near Euston Station. It is outside the Congestion zone, but that finishes at 630pm anyway, and there is also parking nearby.  There is also (this) website at www.clwg.org.uk

See where it is on Street Map.co.uk.

We meet at about 7-ish, play most things, and there's usually about 4-5 games going on of various sorts. DBM is just about the most popular, although there can be everything from ACW ships to Space ships...

Some of us do enter lots of competitions, and most of us enter some - but when we do we all work very hard at not being taken seriously.... when "on the road" we usually can be seen sporting a seasonal, unique and highly desirable range of self-depreciatory t-shirts.

Unusually for a wargames club, there are very few of us who could objectively or accurately be described as "fat". We also have an unusual distribution of facial hair, in that it that the hirsuteness of our membership roughly mirrors that of the general population. The B.O. however is still a problem.....

That's it!
