Abingdon 2001

(500 ap doubles, Book 2)

After the Wargames Draw-Rigging scandal, we rock up in Abingdon to say a big "hello" to fellow Nottingham absconders (and Top Ten finishers in this competition in 2000 ), Keith & Wayne !  Luckily for us both, out of a possible 10 teams we could each have met in round one, amazingly we are drawn to play each other (although apparently only after a hasty reshuffle involving some of the teams whose opponents were yet to show up, all so that the competition could start promptly 25 minutes before the official start time....) :-)

1	Game 2 - vs a Bactrian thingy. Easy - avoid the smellies and the Bw, and nail the Kn (X) with our Kn (F).....	2	"Doctor Confidence" leads the charge. Elephants don't count as support for mounted troops !
3	Dave Fairhurst personally leads the charge, as his Kn (X) wreak horrible revenge for their crushing defeat at the same venue last year . Clearly our strategy of Kn (F) being better has just been proved erm, unlucky...	4	My Warband lose it big time as they rush up a rough hill into Auxilia - and get cut down to a man. With them goes our hopes, the CinC's command, and the army..... (10:0 defeat for the London Boys)
